Sarytogan Graphite reports high-grade assays to feed into upcoming PFS
Melbourne, Victoria | February 26, 2024 12:30 PM Eastern Standard Time
Sarytogan Graphite Ltd (ASX:SGA) managing director Sean Gregory sits down with Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to discuss recent results from geotechnical drilling at the Sarytogan graphite deposit in central Kazakhstan. The company reported several significant intercepts of greater than 40% total graphitic carbon (TGC) and two individual assays higher than an “extraordinary” 50% TGC. The eight holes drilled last year, totalled 471.3 metres, with high-grade graphite mineralisation reported in 92% of all metres drilled. Gregory also discusses how these results will contribute to the upcoming pre-feasibility study and provides an update on ongoing battery testing, following successful maiden battery results on Sarytogan uncoated spherical purified graphite (USPG) that delivered superior performance to many Chinese synthetic graphites used in lithium-ion batteries. With the PFS and ongoing drilling to come, there should be no shortage of news flow for the company.
Gregory said: “These thick high-grade results, in many cases over the entire length of 60-metre drill holes drilled into the proposed initial pit walls, highlight the low strip-ratio and exceptionally high-grade mineralisation available at Sarytogan. This is another important input to the pre-feasibility study on track for completion no later than Q3 2024.”
