SPARK Microsystems Teams with UWB Alliance to Test UWB Coexistence

SPARK Microsystems

SPARK Microsystems, a Canadian fabless semiconductor company specializing in next-generation ultra-wideband (UWB), and UWB Alliance, an international non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and growth of the UWB industry, have initiated a joint effort to test the coexistence and aggregation capabilities of UWB technology in environments where other UWB or other wireless protocols and radio devices are in use. This first phase includes testing the interoperability and compatibility of a pair of UWB technologies operating in a single environment simultaneously with UWB transceivers from SPARK Microsystems and other industry players. “Generating empirical data through scientific testing is critical for understanding how UWB devices can coexist with other devices,” said Benjamin Rolfe, CTO, UWB Alliance. “The testing we are doing with SPARK Microsystems will enable the industry to progress forward on collaborative coexistence strategies that optimize spectrum sharing while minimizing interference. It will also provide standards-making bodies with factual documentation to aid in amending or modifying spectrum rules, allowing more UWB-enabled solutions to come to market.” Preliminary results of phase one with multiple UWB devices indicate generally good coexistence performance, with the tested devices showing no measurable performance impact from other interfering UWB devices. Testing of multiple devices in aggregation was also conducted. Phase two will expand the coexistence testing to include UWB with U-NII devices in 6 GHz (802.11ax). The full results will become available shortly after the conclusion of the testing. “SPARK Microsystems and UWB Alliance together recognize the importance of coexistence with other wireless devices for widespread market adoption of UWB technology across various markets such as consumer, healthcare, connected cars, smart home and smart factory,” said Frederic Nabki, Co-Founder and CTO, SPARK Microsystems. “We anticipate the results of the testing will educate and inform cross-industry stakeholders on how UWB uses the spectrum in aggregation while coexisting with other radio devices.” About SPARK Microsystems SPARK Microsystems is a fabless semiconductor company that is leading the way towards ultra-low power wireless communications for consumer and IoT-connected devices. With its patented technologies, SPARK Microsystems is bringing to market a high-performance wireless transceiver that allows for orders of magnitude improved power consumption, latency and more accurate ranging and positioning, while providing higher data rates than competing technologies. For more information, please visit www.sparkmicro.com. About UWB Alliance UWB Alliance is an international non-profit organization headquartered in Washington D.C. dedicated to the promotion and growth of the ultrawideband (UWB) industry. Inflectra's Spira Version 7.0 Enables Partners and Customers to Create Native Plugins and Make them Available to Other Users

Inflectra

Inflectra, a leading maker of IT software lifecycle management solutions, today announced its latest Spira platform version release. The company’s Spira Version 7.0, which includes SpiraTest, SpiraTeam and SpiraPlan, three industry-leading products for application test management, test automation, and project and quality management, now comes with a built-in app store — SpiraApps. Spira is designed to help customers streamline their software operations, allowing developers, testers and managers to allocate time and resources to business-critical assignments. “We recognize that lots of companies have good ideas and products, and we want to be able to harness and integrate these into Spira for the benefit of our customers and partners,” said Inflectra CEO Adam Sandman. “The unique features of the SpiraApp plugin extensibility system will allow, for the first time, customers and partners of Inflectra to create their own functionality inside the system. Our entire suite of tools was created with users in mind, and because the company has never accepted any outside investment, our products are influenced by users’ needs, not those of investors. SpiraApps is a direct result of Inflectra’s partners’ and customers’ feedback.” SpiraApps is unique in that: The same set of plugins and extensions written as SpiraApps will be available for cloud and self-hosted (on-premise) versions of the platform without any differences in code — in other words, it will offer “write once, run everywhere” functionality for plugins. It focuses on industry and methodology-specific functionality, helping to better meet the specific needs of regulated industries. For example, software products targeting the healthcare sector must comply with different regulations and requirements than those for the banking or aviation industries. It gives individual customers access to features they need, without having to contend with any they don’t need, creating their ideal toolchain. It allows third-party applications to be deployed and run securely and reliably inside the platform using built-in Spira Plugin Manager, so that users can harmoniously blend different tools to meet their exact requirements. SpiraApps integrates seamlessly with three key DevOps platforms — GitLab, GitHub, and CircleCl. It will also offer enhanced risk management for hardware projects, automated standard tasks, test cases for streamlined project management, and templated artifact descriptions so customers can more easily standardize their processes. Inflectra offers a suite of intuitive, turnkey enterprise solutions to manage the entire software lifecycle. Its industry-leading products for application test management, test automation and lifecycle management. Frost & Sullivan Honors Xcitium with the Best Practices Competitive Strategy Leadership Award in the Global Endpoint Security Industry

Comodo

Xcitium, formerly known as Comodo Security Solutions, is proud to be recognized by Frost & Sullivan with the 2022 Best Practices Competitive Strategy Leadership Award. This honor is the result of a rigorous evaluation across the global endpoint security industry to assess best practices and award companies that are revolutionizing cybersecurity solutions to overcome market challenges. Xcitium received high marks across all categories including strategy effectiveness, strategy execution, executive team alignment, the customer purchase and service experience, and brand equity. At a time when endpoint security solutions are vital to stopping increasing cyber threats, Xcitium is the only suite of solutions on the market that provides protection against zero-day ransomware and malware attacks by confining unknown files and code in a protective container until it is determined safe. “ Xcitium ’ s Zero Threat Technology, utilizing patented Kernel API Virtualization, prevents unknown malware from accessing critical system resources that cause damage, while providing complete use of the unknown file or application—this is a distinct departure from all existing vendors which terminate the offending unknown once their engine makes a threat determination,” said Sarah Pavlak, Industry Principal at Frost & Sullivan. Originally founded as Comodo to provide SSL certificates, Xcitium has transformed in recent years into the industry ’ s leading unified managed endpoint security company. Where other cybersecurity solutions only provide 99% protection against attacks, Xcitium strives to close that gap and provide protection against all threats without disruption to a customer ’ s workflow. “ The threat landscape is incredibly large right now and constantly changing. Smaller and medium sized enterprises are dealing with the same threats as larger companies, but they rarely have the time or resources to deal with those attacks. Our ultimate goal is to make CISO ’ s jobs easier, providing them with Endpoint Detection and Response and Managed Detection and Response solutions that protect while being simple to configure, scale and maintain with no impact to business productivity,” said Ken Levine, CEO of Xcitium. “ This recognition from Frost & Sullivan is proof that our patented Zero Threat Technology is not only providing our customers with true protection, but is also an affordable and easy to use solution for security professionals.” Focused on core bundles to address different needs of organizations, Xcitium offers a wide range of services including Incident Response, Proactive Threat Hunting, Reverse Engineering of Binaries, Threat Intelligence, full endpoint protection with breach protection and MDR capabilities.
